I like your progress. And that's not saying that I do not agree with the idea of shrinking the outer areas, either.

I forgot to add one screenshot in my post.. I tried to make the mountain look a bit better.. So here it is:

Should be interesting. If the mountainous area leads somewhere rather than serving as a series of defensive platforms, consider making more of it it able to be traversed by monsters.

Actually there is a passage in the moat that leads to the mountain through a small cavern... For now it is the only way to enter the fortress (except for virus ) (And lol there is the main gate of course but it can't be opened from outside...). The way is definitely not straight so monsters cannot be lured trough the cave. I also made some monster blocking lines so the entrances to the cave cannot be completely blocked.

Hm, be careful with monster blocking lines, they'll most likely result in undesirable behavior here. Avoid them completely if possible. Also remember that they effect flying monsters, so things can't fly over them.

I've used them at three places, and they all are necessary to keep the map fair.. They are only in small cave entrances where they cause no harm, only prevent blocking the entrances (They are made using portal effects) [EDIT] Made the graveyard.. Nothing too great but I like it myself.

Made some random cliffs and a small lake outside the fort.. also a small cave where poor people can home theirselves... Sorry for the resolution of the screenshots

Pretty nice, you could make the cavern darker though.

Lookin' neat, but I have to say that the rock texture you used in the skybox is uuugly. Go to afterglow and find another one if you have to.

Just to let everybody know: I'm putting this project on hold for a while. My hard drive crashed few days ago and I am not even sure if I will get this map back at all...(I'm writing this message on my Nintendo Wii) If not, I will propably just redo it and it will be like it was because of all the screenshots I've posted here.

That is a shame that your hard-drive crashed I really found your map to be well done and inspired from Hexen.
Hopefully it will be recovered!

Take your time, we're kind of backed up with maps here so you can take as much time as you need. Really. No rush. At all. "Backed up with maps" --> It will have to be completely redone to fit the more advanced style of ZDW2, so don't bother making a map that will not be compatible.
