So it's decided.. A mountain it is then. I was myself too thinking it could be a good place for assaulting the fortress so nobody could camp there too easily... Propably going to make some sort of caverns inside the mountain.. Perhaps.

having a half-hill act as the fourth wall of the castle could be very interesting. Lol I made the mountain "a bit" too big... I just get so excited about this kind of stuff Well anyways, there is currently only one entrance to the mountain/fortress which is pretty easy to block... Can't be 100% blocked though. I tried putting some monsters in the fort and tried attacking it with IDFA but I failed terribly XD I could even say it's impossible to capture the fortress if someone gets proper defences there. I will change the sky soon and propably the brown rock texture.. Not sure yet. I just want to concentrate on the other parts of the map for a moment. PS. I have no idea why I mixed gray and brown rock textures together .

Well, the mountain surely needs some more work on "contrast". Like, so every edge and ledge should be well visible.. because mass usage of the same texture in a bigger area can look very bland, even if there's a lot of height variation.
In my opinion you don't absolutely need to get rid of the brown texture, but using a third rock texture, and mixing it all up MIGHT look nice, though it is probably easier said than done.
Anyways, keep up the good work, I really like it so far!

I kind of like the brown texture so I'll try to do something to make it look a little better.. I hope I can find some sort of tutorial about that because I'm not sure if I can make it work but we'll see when I start researching stuff.. I've made a small base to the cavern leading to the mountain.. This is small base and I didn't make it for mega camping. Perhaps I'll add something later but it's good for now. (I know, the ceiling needs fixing.. doing it later XD)

I'm starting to think that the brown texture needs to be changed to a gray one.. Or a lighter one. This time I'm really going to leave it be as it is for now.

I've made some random progress now.. I filled the fortress with a random house and an area that will become a graveyard when I feel like making it. Also started making the outside area of the fortress.. NOTE: THE SKYBOX IS MESSED UP FOR NOW + I DID SOME SERIOUS MISSCALCULATING WHEN ZOOMING OUT IN DOOM B****ER! THAT CAUSED THE OUTSIDE AREAS BECOME HUGE.... I will rescale the whole area later ;D I also decided that the map will not be 100% based on king of the hill since it would be retarded and boring if a Strife player got the big fortress XD
