Well. I know it is not very likely that this will be accepted I thought I would try. I know in-game you said to check the blog and I konw how it said that their would NOT be a Hacx, D*** N**** 3D, or W***enstein 3D faction. However I thought possibly that you might consider it if someone did a bit of the dirty work. I spent 3 hours working on a faction document for it. All It would take is you making the technical stuff and some other graphics. I worked real hard to make it as accurate to yours as I can. Before you say that the things are too weak, too cheap, too expensive, etc. take into mind you can alter the health and that. The health facts were taken form the Doom Wiki so if they are under/over powered, that's why. I hope you like the work. I thought Hacx should be in it because it is the only game on the Doom engine that is not in Zdoom Wars. Doom, check, Heretic, check, Hexen, check, Strife, check, Chex Quest, check, but no Hacx. Click the link to get the document. It word in 95 format so it works from 95 to 7. If you do not have word, get Open Office. It's free and works in it. I could not make it a PDF. It would not work properly when I did. h.imagehost.org/download/0790/hacxIf you do not like the Tech Tree I made, Use this as a base. Please tell me what you think. ;D I worked real hard on it.

I think the fatal hack ability is overpowered even though all of the Hax units are very weak.
I think if it didnt do any any damage at all to heroes then it would be much less powered down, the cost might also need to be adjusted abit so its less spammable (flem meteors are 40/30 and arent that useful something like this would have to be close to that)
Other than that I think it would be passable for a faction. Its like a weak doom faction with more emphasis on stealth and quick attacks
edit: also fix the health and things on your little pdf, thorn thing with 600 health?

I can't speak for Ventris, (as much as I would love too just to annoy him :-P........ Just joking.....don't smite me.. plz) but probably not going to happen. That "technical" stuff, plus balancing would take alot of work. Even if you made the faction and try to balance it mathmatically yourself. Theres no way you could know how it would play with the other 6 factions, witch themselves after 8 months of public testing are just now starting to show signs of balance. There is SO much to consider when balancing a faction.
Ventris has said he might consider making Harmony a faction, but if so... that is Lightyears and lightyears away..(yes I am a very big startrek fan.... DON'T JUDGE ME!!!!)

@savent Well, like I said. The things would have to adjusted like health and cost. I could not think of anything to replace "Fatal Hack". It was the first thing that came to mind. As for you thing about fixing the things on my PDF. It is properly aligned for me. I don't see anything wrong with the health. What exactly is wrong with it. WhoDaMan I know. I just wanted to see if he would consider it if someone did all the typing work. Also scince it is just a modified verion of Doom's Monsters, we could just take the DeHackEd/Decorate files out and use that as a base. And about the balancing thing, that is exactly why I want to do it before the wad/pk3 files get really old and are set.

Here is a 2.0 of the PDF i.imagehost.org/download/0260/hacxI COULD NOT fix the alignment errors you were experiencing because like I said, I was not experiencing them. Whats changed: - Changed Fatal Hack to not hurt Heros
- Fixed minor typos
- Added (Hero Unit) after Mechamaniac
- Altered Tips and Strategies
- Made the Monstruct's details more in depth.
WIth the exception of alingment, is this a better PDF Savent? EDIT: Ok, Just read Vent's Message and wanted to say: Ok I didn't know dude. I really have wanted to immortilize myself by being a part of the Doom Community. My last project has apparently went bust (Me and some members of Doomworld are trying to revive Ghostbusters Doom). I was actually hoping my document would be the one in, but if you don't want to use mine, its cool dude. Just was hoping you wouldn't blow me off completley and I'm glad you're going to add Hacx eventually.

...I never said I wasn't going to do a Hacx faction, it's just reliant on Hacx 2.0 getting the monsters done.
Also, I actually have a fully functional, but outdated faction (even with some preliminary balancing, albeit against an older ZDWars version), incomplete manual, etc. for the original Hacx monsters with much more original behaviors, and a special ability. It actually manages to avoid being particularly similar to other factions, i.e., the mines work waaay differently than Flem Mines and have a different application, the Mahjong is instead given a massively explosive lobbed projectile attack with an audio warm-up sound, etc.
Blzut made a decorate version of all the actors in Hacx, which I used as a base.
Just sayin'.
And no, I'm not going to release it, so don't ask. It wouldn't play too well at this point, and would need a lot of updating to be fully functional.
As long as the possibility of Hacx 2.0 is hovering about, I will not release a Hacx faction. Otherwise, I would essentially have to make an entire new faction to include the planned monsters (including the big boss, G.E.N.I.E.).
Still, if the other monsters are completed, the behaviors of current ones that won't change much will keep the behaviors I gave them in the current working version, which isn't half bad as far as ideas.
Also, WhoDa, Light years are an actual scientific concept, and therefore are completely independent of Star Trek.
I actually intend to release a new faction only AFTER everything else is balanced. Thus, the balance process for the new faction is more about fitting it in, rather than adjusting everything.
And no, I will not change my mind on a matter just because someone does a lot of work. In fact, even if I didn't have all the material that I do, I would create the faction in the exact way I wanted to, by my own hand, etc. etc. etc.
Reposted, just to make sure you see it and stop hurting yourself.

Ok. I saw it. But just wondering a few last things. - Was that 3 hours down the drain?
- Did I help give you any ideas for monsters (as in the way they act)
- How was my writing skills in the PDF? I tried to do it as accurate as possible and tried to make their details as if they have been played before.

1. Yes 2. No 3. I tend to type the manuals in a more in-universe fashion, and don't use direct comparisons, if any. Also, there were a lot of grammar errors and sentence fragments. The descriptions were too specific at some points, and too vague in others, but some of that could come down to our different writing styles.

Well I have bad grammar and spelling, and sometimes know spellcheck doesn't catch it all.
